Brady's Gardening

Brady is such a great helper in our garden, he is my best corn husker for sure! 

And he is a really great bean snipper. He will sit and help me until the job is done. 

But the thing Mr. B likes most in our garden are the watermelons and pumpkins.

We tried watermelons last year and had a baseball sized one. Jake and Brady were determined to do better. Holy smokes did they do great!

 Brady grew 2 watermelons that were grocery store quality. And thanks to my favorite brother, who taught me how to know when watermelons are ripe, we ate a delicious home grown watermelon!! This spoiled generation doesn't know how to eat watermelons with seeds and they don't like having seed-spitting contests either! But the kids got over the seeds and it was really cool!

The other thing in the garden that Brady likes are his pumpkins. He likes pumpkins because we had to tell him that his birthday isn't coming until the pumpkins are orange. He has been asking about his birthday for months, so this was something that he could understand. 

We have 4 great pumpkins that HAD to be cut and put on our front porch. I just hope they make it another month. Either from the TLC that Brady gives them, the still warm weather or some neighborhood boys who thought it was fun to smash them last year. Little did they know how devastating it was for our little man. And I obviously haven't gotten over it yet either. 

As a side note he also survived much of the fall by eating only corn on the cob for dinner, with the occasional green bean.
