We had a celebration! Derek had a birthday he's 7! He also had one of the busiest and coolest days on record. We woke to him winning the birthday club on the radio! He won a prize, a birthday cake, and a free ice cream cone!
He got to open his presents before school because frankly that was the best time! We had waffles on the special "Red Plates!"
He took a treat to school! Directly after school he went to pick up his radio prize and then off to gymnastics where he got more treats and was the 'gymnast of the day!'
Rushing home from gymnastics he changed into soccer duds and we whisked off to his game, while eating sandwiches in the car! He had a great game, he got to play goalie for a quarter which he likes!
This pillow pet that he got for his birthday has the greatest name! He named it Flaming-Bear-Chaser!
Here's the scoop on Flaming-bear-chaser, We have been reading The Storm Testament series for like 2 years. Jake mostly reads it to K and D at bed time. I guess in one of the
books there is a dog named Flaming-Bear-Chaser!
Derek loves to have fun and play around, he also loves animals. He loves his chickens, Speck and Fuzzball!(Fuzzball is seen above)
He has the greatest laugh. He is just getting into reading chapter books and loves it. Lastly, he's really good at vacuuming, but won't admit it! He is so fun to have around, and he's excited to have a lamp to read in his bed, and an alarm clock.

What a day!! That had to be a fun day! happy Birthday Big D!! I can't believe that he will be baptized next year. That is crazy how fast time goes.
