This past Friday night my Dad was inducted in the Sky View Athletic Hall of Fame!
He's not one to toot his own horn, and he was even down playing this whole thing but we all know how cool it would be to be honored by your high school. Think of how many thousands of athletes have come through that school, and they chose him! This is their third year of the Hall of Fame so really he's in like the top 10! I have heard that he is the best athlete Sky View has ever had. I might be a little biased but he is definetly my favorite!
It was super exciting and we are so proud of him!
My Dad is such an amazing man, with great inner and outer strength. He is a great example to me of committing himself to the service of the Lord and the service of others. Including serving me and my family.
I can't remember the particulars of what they said about him. The video has them, but he was an All-American in football and an Honorable Mention All-American in basketball. He told me that whether he had the ball or not he was tackled every play. And I have seen video of him with 2 or 3 players being dragged as he continues to move forward. He was a great athlete and always talked to me about being coachable and teachable.

He's not going to be super happy for posting these pictures of him choking up. He kept trying not to make a big deal of it, but we are all so proud of him. He had all his kids, grand kids, and siblings there. I know it meant a lot to him.
I know his parents are proud of the man that he has become. And I bet they were happy to watch him too. I love my dad so much, he has overcome much in his life and he deserves this award. Dad, we give you a standing ovation for pure awesomeness!

He was inducted with one of his favorite coaches Earl Lindley. He had several coaches that took great care of him and that he respected and loved. He was excited to be inducted with him. He was even mentioned over the radio on Friday.
I have to give props to my cousin Michelle for the pictures. Mine didn't turn out so good especially with a busy Brady on my lap.
So after listening to the announcement about him. It's pretty cool huh?! How many of your Dad's or husbands can say that?! And don't you think he looks pretty darn good too. You would never guess that he's as old as he is. Plus, I just gave him a hair cut!!
Dad, I love you and are super proud to be your daughter.
